Norwest Private Hospital is located in the rapidly developing North West corridor of Sydney and is operated by Healthscope, a leading provider of private healthcare in Australia. The hospital has 277 beds and is a high acuity facility with an Emergency Department located in Sydney’s Bella Vista.
Due to an internal promotion within Healthscope this position has become available and provides a great platform to future leadership positions. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced instrument nurse to join our dynamic Orthopaedic team in this pivotal position.
The Orthopaedic Coordinator will be responsible for:
Adhering to ACORN standards and Hospital policy and procedure
Providing evidenced based nursing care
Providing clinical expertise and depth to the Orthopaedic team
Liaising and coordinating with the multi-disciplinary team
Ensuring patient and staff safety
Ensuring e-learning and Mandatory training is completed on a regular basis
Ensuring and organizing appropriate Orthopaedic prosthesis, instrumentation, equipment.
The Orthopaedic Coordinator will fulfil their role within the department with the support of the Perioperative Services Manager, Deputy Theatre Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator.
The theatre complex consists of 16 state of the art operating theatres, and a standalone Endoscopy suite. Our specialties include General (including laparoscopic), Colorectal, Bariatric, Orthopaedic, Cardiothoracic, ENT, Plastics, Paediatric, Oral & Dental Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Ophthalmic, Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, Urology and Vascular surgery
What you’ll need to succeed
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse;
A minimum of 5 years’ post graduate experience as Orthopaedic instrument nurse
Demonstrated ability act as a patient advocate;
Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;
Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to teach and preceptor staff;
Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, on call and ad hoc Saturdays
