Responsible for conducting health policy analyses.

Primary Duties To Include, But Are Not Limited To

Supports efforts to monitor, research, and evaluate the impact of proposed federal legislation, regulations, and policies, as well as state legislation and policies, on healthcare issues. The Health Policy Analyst will primarily support work on issues related to the Medicare and Medicaid programs, maternal and child health, and other timely issue-specific topics.

Assists in issues management by working in conjunction with policy staff to represent the organization in public policy discussions.

Researches, writes, and disseminates policy-related materials such as policy issue briefs, comment letters, and advocacy documents, in conjunction with internal staff and coalition partners.

Participates in developing recommendations on health policy issues.

Tracks specific issues, including federal and/or state action.

Assists in the maintenance of shared worksites, including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.


Minimum Qualfiications:

Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field; 1 year of work in health policy development; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in public policy, public health, economics, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a clinical field strongly preferred.

Knowledge of current policy issues in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Medicaid, Medicare, managed care, maternal and child health, or other related areas.

Requires strong writing and research abilities.

Requires the ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Project management experience preferred.
