Why we need you:
As Head of Learning and Development, you will report to the HR director and would be expected to influence senior managers at all levels to adopt and support effective approaches to learning and development. You will also be expected to be involved in succession planning and to support talent management. This is a management and strategic role so most of the responsibilities you will have are typical for someone at this level. You’ll be required to meet with Heads of Business on a regular basis and manage a team. You’ll also need to liaise with senior line management and senior HR figures to ensure the overall learning and development approach is in line with the broader business strategy.

What you will do:
In consultation with business and the HR Director, define and progress the L&D and Performance philosophies, policies and tool-kits for Global Shares.

In partnership with the business, identify critical capability gaps to make the organization future-fit and develop strategies to develop and stretch our people towards that end.

Develop and lead the execution of a global approach to manage capability development over the short and long term towards helping all our people achieve their full potential.

Provide Global Shares employees with a suite of learning programs and tools to build capability on the skills and behaviours most relevant for our business.

Oversee the effective use of the Learning Management System to manage and evaluate learning using key metrics to support a high impact learning culture.

Support leaders and leadership teams around the world to leverage global programs, providing consultation, thought leadership and execution support to adapt or launch specific initiatives to address local needs.

Manage the succession planning process to ensure we have identified successors and risk mitigation plans in place across the organisation.

Delivering training to various parts of the business and working with various stakeholders to coordinate and organise training sessions

Driving a culture of continuous professional development (CPD) across Global Shares

Creating a coaching and mentoring culture and pathway in Global Shares

What should you have:
Minimum degree in a Learning & Knowledge management discipline

Minimum 5 years’ experience of leadership experience

Previous experience with leading LMS systems

Experience in coaching, facilitating and influencing senior leaders.

Ability to adapt, be flexible and pivot quickly without distress.
